NDRO Hails Sen. Mark On His 68th
Birthday
The Niger
Delta Renaissance Organisation has hailed the President of the Nigerian Senate
Sen. David Mark on the occasion of the celebration of his 67th
birthday. The group in a press statement signed by its National Coordinator
Comrade Nwokoma Messiah said the celebration of an additional year in one’s
life calls for celebration especially when that person has attained several
positions of responsibility from which he has impacted on the lives of its
people.
The group
described Sen. Mark as a detribalised Nigerian who has in the course of his
military career, transverse the country with some of his postings been at the
Niger Delta region specifically as Chairman of the Task Force on Abandoned properties
in Rivers State and later Governor of Bendel State; positions where he
distinguished himself credibly.
While
wishing the Senate President better years ahead, the group said the history of
Nigeria from 1999 till date will not be complete without emphasis on the
positive role played by the present Senate President who is seen as a
stabilizing force in the Nigerian political scene a situation the Niger Delta
Renaissance Organisation believes is as a result of his maturity and
sensitivity to institutions of governance. “Senator David Mark has brought another level
of leadership in the Nigerian Senate which has not been the case hitherto. He
must be commended for bringing maturity and stability to the Senate. As he adds
another year to his illustrious life, it is the prayer of Nigerians especially
Niger Deltans that God grants him more years and good health so he can continue
to impact on the lives of Nigerians.” the statement added.
