Support For GEJ: C C Okirie Commends PDP In Rivers State




A frontline politician in Rivers State Chief Chukwuma Chinwa Oikrie has commended the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party in Rivers state under the leadership of Bro. Felix Obuah (Go Round) for the support the party has given to President Goodluck Jonathan’s second term bid.
Chief Okirie made this known at Omoku Town the headquarters of Ogba/ Egbema / Ndoni local government area over the weekend when the Party opened the Campaign Office of President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan in the LGA. While thanking the state Chairman for his support, Chief Okirie stated that with the support the President has received from the party in the state, there was even no need for him to come and campaign personally.  “With the tremendous support the people of the state have accorded the President, I think he should go and rest. It is even immaterial if he comes to campaign personally because the people of the state are behind him. We will give him the traditional 100% votes we have always given our Presidential aspirants” he said.
He assured Rivers people that the PDP was the best option for them stating that the state has a lot to benefit from a PDP led administration both at the Federal and state levels. He warned Rivers people against falling for the antics of the APC especially since the party at the national level has shown disdain for Rivers people in all ramifications.
C C Okirie also blasted the party at the National level for disparaging the office of the President. He said it was wrong for a party that hopes to occupy the presidency to engage in the politics of disparaging that same office. He described their politics as atavistic and out of tune with modern day politics.
While commending Bro. Felix Obuah, C C Okirie asked the people of ONELGA and the state in general not to relent in their support for the Chairman so as for the state to witness good governance and positive development in the years ahead.
It will be recalled that the State Chapter of the party led by its Leader Barr. Nyesopm Wike had gone on a tour of local governments under Orashi region of Rivers state drumming up support for Mr. President and also launching LGA Chapters of Goodliuck Support Offices in the LGAs. LGAs Visited included Ahaoda West, Ahoada East, Abua Odual As well as Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni LGA. Top politicians also joined the party leader. They include Kenneth Kobani, Hon. Ken Chikere. Chief Sergent Awuse, Marshall Uwom, Orits Onyiri, Hon. Betty Apiafi amongst others. The event drew a mammoth crowd.
