Group Kicks Against Amaechi's $280 Million World Bank Loan

The Niger Delta Renaissance Organisation has kicked against the decision of the Rivers state governor Rt. Hon. Rotimi Amaechi to borrow the sum of 280 million dollars for water development.

The group through its National Coordinator Comrade Nwokoma Messiah said the decision of the Rivers State Governor to seek for such loan deal when he has less than a year to stay in office is criminal.

The group also condemned the decision of the puppet House of Assembly in the state to rubber stamp the loan deal describing them as enemies of the people.

It says that the governor only want the loan to fund the All Progressive Congress which is an anti Rivers party. The group in the statement urged all Rivers people to reject the loan because it will become a big burden on the incoming administration.

The Niger Delta Renaissance Organisation also queried the sincerity of the loan when the mono rail project which the state government has expended so much resources has failed. The statement added that Rivers people are not ignorant to be deceived by a governor whose only obsession is to destroy the state.
