The elders who rose from their enlarged executive meeting in Agbor said there was no doubt as to whether Delta North would produce the next governor, stressing that the people were now prepared more than ever before to do so.
Addressing professionals, political leaders, businessmen and women who thronged the venue of the meeting, Chairman, Anioma Elders Forum, Dr. Jude Umakwe said “there abound many Delta North people who are well qualified to be governor”.
“The question of producing a Delta North governor in 2015 cannot be compromised” they said.
The elders threw light on the qualities of the next governor.
“We need someone who can manage human and material resources and move the state forward. We need someone who will uphold the principles of accountability and transparency”.
The elders extolled the virtues of Olejeme, describing her as a woman of high ethical values and a rare model for Delta State, Nigeria and Africa.
“Delta State should count itself as blessed for producing somebody like Olejeme. She is a woman of God and has been promoting peace, tolerance and development in Delta State and beyond. We are very proud of her activities” they said.
The elders who also raised the 2013 governorship screening process above the level of witch hunting and politics of imposition advised traditional rulers, politicians, professionals, businessmen and women, students and youths in the state to stand firmly by Olejeme and bring her to power in 2015.
They appealed to Deltans abroad to support Olejeme to clinch the coveted office of the governor in 2015.
“Olejeme is an outstanding Nigerian in many respects who has touched many lives in a very positive manner. She has honesty, fairness, equity, justice, peace, accountability and good governance as her watchword”.
