The South South Youth
Assembly for Non Violence has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to consider elevating
Dr. Ibe Kachukwu the current Minister of State Petroleum to a substantive
minister in the ministry.
The group made the call
following the assurance of Mr. President at the National Executive Council meetimng of the All Progressives Congress APC that he will consider adding more
ministers to his cabinet.
The South South Youth
Assembly for Non Violence through its National Coordinator Nwuke Ugochukwu (jnr) said as much as
the statement of President Buhari in adding more ministers to his cabinet is
apt, he should also consider elevating Kachukwu due to what the group said was
his proactive service to the cabinet. The group described Ibe Kachukwu as a
humble servant of this administration whose experience in the oil industry is
required to move the industry forward.
''Dr. Ibe Kachukwu has
done so much for the development of the Nigerian oil industry in the short
space of time he has served. We strongly believe that he will do well if given
a greater responsibility. We commend Mr. President's speech especially as it has
to do with appointing more ministers but he should also consider making Dr. Ibe
Kachukwu the substitutive minister. This action will help his administration''
the statement read
While expressing
support and solidarity to President Buhari, the group urged Nigerians not to
lose faith in the present administration stressing that what is needed is
