Confusion In FERMA Over Eng. Rafindadi's Purported Appointment As Managing Director

There is palpable tension and confusion at the Federal Road Maintenance Agency over the purported appointment of Eng. Abdul Nurudeen Rafindadi as the Managing Director of the agency.

The confusion has risen over the suspicion that the memo circulating at the agency on his appointment as well as others may after all not be authentic. The memo which was purportedly signed by the chief of Staff to President Muhammadu Buhari Mr. Abba Kyari on the 15th of September is yet to be verified as at the time of filing this report. Furthermore, our sources say the acting Chairman of FERMA Eng. Ibu questioned the veracity of the said memo and called for the letter of appointment of Rafindadi which usually is signed by Mr. President but is yet to be seen by any staff or management member at the agency.

Apprehension was heightened when Eng. Nurudeen Abdulrahman Rafindadi the purported Managing Director showed up at the agency to be sworn in without other members representing the six geo political zones or with any appointment letter except for a memo, an anomaly in the statutory and administrative process of swearing in members into the board.

Feelers emerging from the road maintenance agency indicate that majority of staff and management are opposed to the swearing in of Mr. Rafindadi and his cohorts as they believe that they are merely exploiting their cozy relationship with some people at the presidency to engineer a forceful takeover of FERMA management without following statutory or regulatory due process.

A source at the agency while expressing disillusionment at the development at the agency, urged Mr. President to call some persons at the Presidency to order in order not to lead to unnecessary chaos at the agency.
