The Niger Delta Renaissance organisation NDRO has urged the outgoing governor of Rivers state Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi to emulate the example set by President Goodluck Jonathan in conceding defeat to his opponents. The group in a press statement signed by its National Coordinator Comrade Nwokoma Messiah as well as its National Director of Publicity Benjamin Etuk said the Rivers state governor was setting a bad precedence for our reemerging democracy by questioning the credibility of an election in which he voted without any form of molestation.
The group described the Governorship and State House of Assembly elections held in the state as peaceful. It commended the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC and security agencies in the state for its determination in ensuring that it was not coerced into doing what would have been injurious to the collective interest of Rivers people. It commended the victory of Chief Barrister Nyesom Wike and other PDP aspirants in all the elections saying that such feat has shown the strength of the party in the state.
The group allayed the fears of the people that the state will not gain in the opposition citing Lagos state which has been in the opposition yet achieved some form of development bovver the years.
The Niger Delta Renaissance Organisation said the votes cast in favour of the PDP was a true reflection of what all Rivers people had wanted. The group said the result showed that the governor cannot  continue to deceive Rivers people.
The group said in as much as it accepted the defeat of President Goodluck Jonathan, the people of Rivers state would not have in any way voted for the party of a governor who truncated the wishes of the people of the entire Niger Delta region in seeing that their father and brother was reelected for a second term in office.
The NDRO advised the governor to show political maturity by accepting the results of the elections and think of a way he will pack his bags to Abuja stressing that “ Governor Rotimi Ammaechi should go to Abuja and reside because there is no way Rivers people can accept him in the state. He is a betrayer and that is what posterity will see him for”

Abu Ibrahim that the Senate President Dr. Bukola Saraki as well as the Speaker of the House of Representatives Yakubu Dogara and others in the fold of the All Progressives Congress APC that are still masquerading in the party should resign their membership of the party. This call which also implies that they resign their positions as leaders of the various arms of the National Assembly is yet to be complied with by those concerned as at the time of writing this piece Whatever their reasons for still staying put in the party may be, the fact of the matter is that their continued stay in the party has become a sore which must be extricated from the body.  As I watched through the proceedings of the defections on national television, I wept for the country for producing such leaders that lack morality despite all the party has given them politically which they ordin...
