Group Wants Kachukwu Elevated To Substansive Minister of Petroluem

The South South Youth Assembly for Non Violence has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to consider elevating Dr. Ibe Kachukwu the current Minister of State Petroleum to a substantive minister in the ministry. The group made the call following the assurance of Mr. President at the National Executive Council meetimng of the All Progressives Congress APC that he will consider adding more ministers to his cabinet. Jonathan, Dasuki ask Justice Abang to hands-off Metuh’s trial

—-Former President Goodluck Jonathan and detained former National Security Adviser, NSA, Col. Sambo Dasuki, retd, on Tuesday, asked Justice Okon Abang of the Federal High Court in Abuja to hands-off the ongoing trial of erstwhile National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Chief Olisa Metuh. Jonathan, through his lawyer, Chief Mike Ozekhome, SAN, maintained that Justice Abang was bound to suspend further hearing on the case to allow the Abuja Division of the Court of Appeal to determine an appeal that was lodged before it by Dasuki. Ozekhome anchored the request on Order 4 Rules 10 and 11 of the Court of Appeal Rules. Dasuki had gone before the appellate court to challenge Justice Abang’s refusal to quash the subpoena that was issued to compel him to appear as a witness in Metuh’s trial. Buhari aware of Maina’s reinstatement, I warned him —HoS in leaked memo

The Head of Service of the Federation, Mrs. Winifred Oyo-Ita,  has said   President Muhammadu Buhari is aware of the reinstatement of a former Chairman   of the Pension Reforms Commission, Mallam Abdulrasheed Maina, into the civil service. She however said she warned the President against it. Oyo-Ita said that her warning was based on the implications such reinstatement would have on the anti-corruption war of the Federal Government. The HoS stated this in her memo to the Chief of Staff to the President, Mr. Abba Kyari. The memo, with reference number HSCSF/HCSF/LU/COR/FCSC/750/T, was dated October 23, 2017. The memo, titled, “Re: Abdulrasheed Abdullahi Maina,” was received in the office of the Chief of Staff to the President on October 23. BREAKING: Buhari to appoint more ministers

President Muhammadu Buhari will soon appoint more ministers into his cabinet. He will also make board appointments, a demand by his party members over the months. Buhari gave hints of the new appointments in a speech delivered today to the National Executive of the All Progressives Congress. The president at the moment has 36 ministers, with 14 of them being ministers of state. He doubles as the full minister of petroleum. He said he was having a trimmed cabinet to avoid waste. Now faced with demands by his party for more inclusiveness and patronage, he said he would be shifting ground soon. The “compressed Federal Executive Council”, he said, “will be expanded to bring in more supporters at Federal Level, with fresh ideas to be injected into the government”.
