The mother of the
remaining abducted Dapchi School girl Mrs. Rebecca Sharibu has told the Founder
and General Overseer of the Omega Power Ministries OPM Apostle Chibuzor
Chinyere that he is a real man of God. In a media interaction with our
correspondent, the mother of Miss Leah Sharibu said words cannot describe how
she felt about the concern the Port Harcourt based cleric has shown towards the
plight of her daughter and her family since their ordeal began.
Miss Leah Sharibu
refused to renounce her Christian faith for her release alongside her school
mates leading to her continued abduction by the members of the Boko Haram sect.
Mrs. Sharibu while pleading for her release, urged Nigerians to continue in
their prayers for the release of her daughter stressing that life has never
been the same since the abduction. ''We are facing an ugly nightmare which will
come to past with the release of our daughter'' she said.
Mrs. Sharibu said she
has not communicated with her daughter since the abduction but said she has the
belief that her daughter will be released soon. ''I am confident that my
daughter will be reunited with all of us and we will celebrate to the glory of
God. The government has promised as you are aware that they are doing their
best to ensure the timely release of Leah we cannot disclose everything but we
are confident of her release because of the prayers but we are waiting for the government to fulfil
their promise'' she told our correspondent.
On the role played by
the Christian community she said the congregation of Christ all over the
country as well as from outside the country have continued to show support for
what the family is going through. I heard of what the Port Harcourt based man
of God who is the General Overseer of the Omega Power Ministries is doing. I
thank him and the OPM fold and pray that God Almighty continue to bless him and
others that have shown support for us because it is never easy'' she said.
Meanwhile Nigerians have
called on the Federal Government to show more commitment to the release of the
detained Leah Sharibu. An official of the Red Cross Society of Nigeria (RCSN)
told our correspondent that the quick release of the abducted school girl will make
Nigerians have more faith in the administration's fight against insurgency and
crime in the country.
