''Coalition Against Buhari Laughable'' - Sen. Abu Ibrahim

The Senator representing katsina South Sen. Abu Ibrahim has described the Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP) as laughable. The Senator while speaking with journalists at his office in the National Assembly said those behind the coalition are political liabilities.

It will be noted that the main opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and several other political organisations recently signed a memorandum of understanding which aims to take back power from the ruling All Progressives Congress APC an action that has elicited various comments from across the country.

Sen. Ibrahim said the likes of Buba Galadima and others who have worked with President Muhammadu Buhari for long lost out with the President because they lacked the ability to win elections even in their wards and local governments.

He said the APC was not concerned about the emergence of the coalition which it said will not affect the chances of the party come 2019.''The highest we can expect is a situation whereby four or six Senators and maybe one governor will join their ranks but you must understand also that people are also decamping to the APC from the opposition. We are working very hard and hopefully, will defeat them come 2019'' he said.

Meanwhile, the Niger Delta Progressives Group have commended Sen. Abu Ibrahim for his support for President Muhammadu Buhari. The group in a press statement signed by Comrade Benjamin Etuk said the support of the Katsina born Senator shows his patriotism for the country. ''Sen. Abu Ibrahim is doing so much for the re-election project and we seriously appreciate his fatherly disposition to the various groups supporting Mr. President and it is important we all continue to give him all the support he needs to help the realisation of the re-election project despite the ranting of some disgruntled elements''.

The group also described the formation of the Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP) as a bad sell that is dead on arrival. ''The decision of a coalition of political prostitutes to come up with an arrangement to oust President Muhammadu Buhari is already dead on arrival. Nigerians will never allow themselves to be deceived by a party that robbed it for twenty years only to offer an apology that we all know is borne out of its desire to deceive Nigerians'' the statement added.

DEFECTIONS: Why Saraki, Dogara Others Must Heed Sen. Ibrahim's Call by Comrade Nwokoma Ndubuisi M.

The gale of defections in the National Assembly last week was followed by an advice from no one else than Sen. Abu Ibrahim that the Senate President Dr. Bukola Saraki as well as the Speaker of the House of Representatives Yakubu Dogara and others in the fold of the All Progressives Congress APC that are still masquerading in the party should resign their membership of the party. This call which also implies that they resign their positions as leaders of the various arms of the National Assembly is yet to be complied with by those concerned as at the time of writing this piece Whatever their reasons for still staying put in the party may be, the fact of the matter is that their continued stay in the party has become a sore which must be extricated from the body.  As I watched through the proceedings of the defections on national television, I wept for the country for producing such leaders that lack morality despite all the party has given them politically which they ordin...
