“STOP POLITICS OF CALUMNY”-Group warns Delta Politicians

The Niger Delta renaissance Organisation has urged Delta State Politicians to avoid campaigns of calumny against their opponents ahead of the various political primaries of their parties.
The group made this known in a communiqué issued ahead of the presidential declaration of Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan for re-election come 2015.
The communiqué which was signed by its National Co-ordinator Comrade Nwokoma Messiah as well as the coordinators of various groups in Delta State including  Mr. Benjamin Obolo of Delta Progressive Alliance DPA, Timi Ebi of the Ijaw Justice IJF Forum and Okolo Kingsley of the Delta North Peoples Youth Assembly DNPYA said it is aware of  wicked and desperate attempt by fiendish politicians in Delta State to malign the credibility of Dr. Ngozi Olejeme a front line governorship aspirant in Delta State.
The NDRO warned that it will not relent in exposing such politicians who wish to exploit gender sentiments against a credible and people oriented person like Mrs Olejeme who has worked hard to build her reputation as a leader  “We wish to warn such aspirants and their agents to retrace their steps or risk the wrath of the people.” The group stated.
The Niger Delta Renaissance Organisation as well as its sister groups hailed Mr. President for accepting the demands of majority of Nigerians stressing that it will mobilize  strong support for Mr. President as well as Mrs. Ngozi Olejeme to ensure they succeed for the good of Delta state and the country at large. The group said the fact that President Goodluck Jonathan accepted the demands of Nigerians yearning for his return come 2015 shows that he has a listening ear.
The group warmed against any attempt to impose candidates that are not popular or who fail to meet the wishes and aspirations of the people stressing that it will surely boomerang. “Any attempt to foist a candidate that is not in synchrony with the wishes of the people will surely be rejected by all well meaning people in the state. We do believe that this will not happen because we have a great party that is sensitive to the yearnings of the people not withstanding the resort to blackmail from certain quarters” The statement concluded.

The gale of defections in the National Assembly last week was followed by an advice from no one else than Sen. Abu Ibrahim that the Senate President Dr. Bukola Saraki as well as the Speaker of the House of Representatives Yakubu Dogara and others in the fold of the All Progressives Congress APC that are still masquerading in the party should resign their membership of the party. This call which also implies that they resign their positions as leaders of the various arms of the National Assembly is yet to be complied with by those concerned as at the time of writing this piece Whatever their reasons for still staying put in the party may be, the fact of the matter is that their continued stay in the party has become a sore which must be extricated from the body.  As I watched through the proceedings of the defections on national television, I wept for the country for producing such leaders that lack morality despite all the party has given them politically which they ordin...
