Group Blasts Rivers PDP Over Ward Congress

The Coalition to Save Rivers State Project (CTDRSSP) has condemned the recently held ward congress in Rivers state. The group said it will petition the National office of the party over the conduct of the congress which it describes as a ‘sham’.
In a press statement signed by its Chairman Evoh Frank, the group which is made up of various interest groups across the state warned that if the status quo is allowed to stay, the party will be moving towards an avoidable calamity. The Coalition said “considering the events of the past few days especially as it has to do with the fortunes of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP in the coming elections in the state, it will be criminal to keep quiet in the face of impending doom for our beloved party. It is for this reason that we the Coalition To Save Rivers State Propject (CTSRSP) condemns in strong terms the Ward Congress which purportedly held in the state. It is very unfortunate that in this century, such rascality will be played out by desperate politicians all for the quest for power”
The group urged President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan to call his wife to order due to how Rivers people will be forced to make judgments about her due to her involvement in the politics of the party in the state.
CTSRSP said it will petition the Party headquarters over the issue and strongly believes they will cancel the congress. The group also advised President Goodluck Jonathan not to fall for the gimmick that anybody against Barr. Nyesom Wike is playing anti party politics or is been sponsored by Gov. Rotimi Amaechi. The group said those making such allegations are doing it to paint themselves a saints and party loyalists while in essence they are the ones playing anti party politics. The group advised the PDP that if it is desirous of winning elections next year then it must not be selective in implementing section 7 (3) of the party constitution.
