PDP Reviews Timetable For Primaries




The ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP‎ has reviewed its timetable for the 2015 primary election for all offices.
The party had earlier  fixed October 29 and December 6 for its gubernatorial and presidential primaries respectively, while that of ‎the National Assembly seats was fixed for November 22.
But in a statement by its National Organising Secretary, Abubakar Mustapha, on  Saturday, the PDP has now rescheduled the primaries.
Under the new arrangement, the State House of Assembly primaries has now been slated for November 29, that for the House of Representatives December 6 and that for the Senate December 7.
Primary‎ elections to elect governorship candidates have also now been fixed for December 6, while the national convention to elect a presidential candidate is fixed for December 11, 2014.
President Goodluck Jonathan is widely expected to emerge candidate, although the party has recently thrown the race for the ticket open.

PDP NWC Reviews Timelines For Primaries
In exercise of its powers under Section 29 (2) (a) and (b) of the
Constitution of our Great Party (2012 as amended), the National Working
Committee (NWC) has approved the review of timelines (Time-table) for
the conduct of Congresses/Primaries preparatory to the 2015 General
Elections.
The new time-table which supercedes the earlier one is as follows:
A. HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY:
a. Return of Forms –             06/11/14 (Completed)
b. Screening –     07-09/11/14 (Completed)
c.  Screening Appeal –     10/11/14
d    House of Assembly primaries-                29/11/14
e.  Appeals             30/11/14
B. NATIONAL ASSEMBLY:
a. Return of Forms –                 14/11/14
b. Screening and Appeals –                 19-21/11/14
c.  House of Representatives Primaries -            06/12/14
d. Senate Primaries           -      07/12/14
e.    NASS Appeals   -      08/12/14
C. Governorship:
  a. Return of Forms –                 14/11/14
b. Screening and Appeals –                 22-25/11/14
c.  Governorship Primaries -                        08/12/14
e.      Appeals                 09/12/14
D. PRESIDENTIAL:
a. Return of Forms –                 15/11/14

It is noted that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC)
has been notified of the review.
