Group To Felix Obuah “You Have Condescended Into The Arena”

The Niger Delta Renaissance Organisation NDRO has accused the Peoples Democratic Party PDP Chairman in Rivers state of condescending into the arena as far as the primaries of the party in the state is concerned. The group also called on the National leadership of the party to take drastic action in order to avoid the looming failure which will result if the actions of the Obuah led executive are allowed to stay.
In a press statement signed by its National Secretary and spokesman Comrade Barr. Kingsley Frank, the NDRO said it is shameful and appalling that a party Chairman who has promised level playing ground for all the aspirants of the party will be seen openly endorsing a particular candidate against other aspirants. It said such posture does not show that there is a level playing ground. The group said with the attitude, statements and actions of the state party chairman and the state executive council of the party, there is no hope for other aspirants. “When you view the actions of the party chairman in rushing to make press statements in defense of Nyesom Wike, then one is forced to wonder if he is not acting as the de facto campaign manager of Nyesom Wike. Such posturing is disgraceful and runs counter to the guidelines of the party” the statement said.
The group also described as unfortunate the open endorsement of Wike by the wife of Mr. President. It described the endorsement as not being in the interest of the PDP or Rivers people. It called President Jonathan for the sake of the fortunes of the party to call the first lady to order. The group said it was in support of riverine governorship and stressed that it believes that people like Chief Dumo Briggs has all it takes to unify all interests in the state.
On the ward congress that held last Saturday, the group described it as a sham which must not be allowed to stay. It said it was in support of the call by the 16 governorship aspirants for the disqualification of Nyesom Wike for breaching party guidelines alongside the suspension of the state party chairman whose actions it said is not befitting of a party chairman who should be seen as impartial.
The group while pledging its loyalty to the PDP and President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, said it will not relent in its support for the reelection bid of President Jonathan in all the Niger Delta regions and beyond.

Abu Ibrahim that the Senate President Dr. Bukola Saraki as well as the Speaker of the House of Representatives Yakubu Dogara and others in the fold of the All Progressives Congress APC that are still masquerading in the party should resign their membership of the party. This call which also implies that they resign their positions as leaders of the various arms of the National Assembly is yet to be complied with by those concerned as at the time of writing this piece Whatever their reasons for still staying put in the party may be, the fact of the matter is that their continued stay in the party has become a sore which must be extricated from the body.  As I watched through the proceedings of the defections on national television, I wept for the country for producing such leaders that lack morality despite all the party has given them politically which they ordin...

Rivers Governmnet, PDP Disagree Over $280 million Looan

The Rivers State Government and the Peoples Democratic Party in the state are currently at loggerheads over the request by the state Governor, Mr. Rotimi Amaechi, for a $280m loan for water and sanitation projects. While the state PDP said that the latest request for loan by the state government was unnecessary due to the resources accruing to the state through the federal allocation and internally generated revenue, the government said it was not true that the funds were to be used for 2015 elections. The state House of Assembly had on Monday endorsed Amaechi’s request for loan for water supply and sanitation projects. But the state PDP, in a statement, signed by the Special Adviser to its Chairman, Mr. Jerry Needam, said the request for loan was aimed at punishing the governor’s successor in 2015. The party called on members of the House of Assembly, the Federal Ministry of Finance, the African Development Bank and the World Bank not to honour the loan re...
