Who Will Benefit From Abba Kyari's Sack? By Abba Bukar Abba Masta

Will Benefit From Abba Kyari's Sack?
Recently the news that some persons were protesting at the Presidential Villa Aso Rock for the removal of Abba Kyari the  Chief of Staff to President Muhammadu Buhari was on the news bar of many media houses in the country. This call for the removal of the Chief of staff which is gradually becoming resonating has become a sort of blackmail against the Borno born administrator.

I have written many times on the call for the sack of Abba Kyari and my question has always been that what prove do these people calling for his sack have against him other than incurable hate. There seem to be a kind of concerted plan to ensure that he leaves office and the question on my lips and many Nigerians is that who will benefit from his sack? They have accused him of being the leader of the cabal in the presidential villa but I want to state unequivocally here that it is those that are calling for his sack that are the real cabals. They have to be unmasked in order for us to know the brains behind the problems which the Chief of staff as well as the Buhari administration is facing.

One thing that surprised me as well as most Nigerians is the spate of leakage of correspondences between political office holders and the presidency. As much as I know that these leakages are done to spite the Chief of Staff in order to give reasons for his sack, I wonder if those behind these leakages actually have the growth and development of this great country at heart.

President Buhari's efforts to fight corruption is on the right track but as they keep saying, when one fights corruption does fight back and from what we are witnessing in the whole saga against the Chief of Staff, it is evident that corruption is really fighting back against the Buhari administration.

Abba Kyari has occupied various positions in his illustrious life as a banker per excellence even during the era of failed banks but no finger was pointed at him rather he helped transform the United Bank for Africa as Managing Director of the bank. His legacy still lives on till today at the bank. Having occupied such a lofty position at the UBA without any blemish against him is it now that he has joined an administration whose mantra is to fight corruption that he will suddenly change?

It is a known cliché that a leopard does not change its spots. This is the same with Alhaji Abba Kyari who carved very positive spots in his youth days as a career banker. Nothing will make him change his colour today that he has a reputation to keep.

I understand the desperation of his traducers to ensure that he is booted out of government but with my knowledge and belief in President Muhammadu Buhari, I don't think he can fall for the cheap blackmail of the cabal that seriously want to see the Chief of Staff booted out of office based on hear say gossips. If there are people in this administration that has good reputation to keep, Alhaji Abba Kyari falls in that league. One of the reasons that they have been fighting him is that they expected that he will be granting them easy access to Mr. President based on pecuniary incentives as it used to happen in previous administrations but unfortunately such has not been the case. The traducers of the Chief of Staff also fail to understand that he has been a Buharist for a very long time and knows the body language of the president very well that he cannot compromise.

It is common knowledge that once somebody walks into the murky waters of politics a lot of mud will be poured on the person but I want to stress that no matter the mud poured on him by his traducers they will never succeed because he is far above the level they are. Nigeria must move forward and nothing can stop the march of the Buhari administration to drive home its fight to rid the country of corrupt elements.

Their resort to cheap blackmail against not only Alhaji Abba Kyari but against other hardworking appointees of the President will not see the light of the day.

In conclusion, I want to urge President Buhari to continue with his anti corruption fight. The journey might not be smooth but definitely at the end of his first year term Nigerians will be able to appreciate what he has done and at the end also, the likes of Abba Kyari and co will be vindicated.

DEFECTIONS: Why Saraki, Dogara Others Must Heed Sen. Ibrahim's Call by Comrade Nwokoma Ndubuisi M.

The gale of defections in the National Assembly last week was followed by an advice from no one else than Sen. Abu Ibrahim that the Senate President Dr. Bukola Saraki as well as the Speaker of the House of Representatives Yakubu Dogara and others in the fold of the All Progressives Congress APC that are still masquerading in the party should resign their membership of the party. This call which also implies that they resign their positions as leaders of the various arms of the National Assembly is yet to be complied with by those concerned as at the time of writing this piece Whatever their reasons for still staying put in the party may be, the fact of the matter is that their continued stay in the party has become a sore which must be extricated from the body.  As I watched through the proceedings of the defections on national television, I wept for the country for producing such leaders that lack morality despite all the party has given them politically which they ordin...

Rivers Governmnet, PDP Disagree Over $280 million Looan

The Rivers State Government and the Peoples Democratic Party in the state are currently at loggerheads over the request by the state Governor, Mr. Rotimi Amaechi, for a $280m loan for water and sanitation projects. While the state PDP said that the latest request for loan by the state government was unnecessary due to the resources accruing to the state through the federal allocation and internally generated revenue, the government said it was not true that the funds were to be used for 2015 elections. The state House of Assembly had on Monday endorsed Amaechi’s request for loan for water supply and sanitation projects. But the state PDP, in a statement, signed by the Special Adviser to its Chairman, Mr. Jerry Needam, said the request for loan was aimed at punishing the governor’s successor in 2015. The party called on members of the House of Assembly, the Federal Ministry of Finance, the African Development Bank and the World Bank not to honour the loan re...

2019: Northern youths kick as Northwest APC lawmakers endorse Buhari

The leadership of the Arewa Youth Forum on Monday said President Muhammadu Buhari does not deserve any endorsement for the 2019 presidency. Reacting to a purported endorsement by some serving All Progressives Congress’s lawmakers from the Northwest in Kaduna, the AYF’s National President, Alhaji Gambo Gujungu, said Buhari was not fit to return as president in 2019. The AYF argued that with the killing spree all over the country, especially in the North, Buhari should serve his mandatory four years term and quit the stage for another Northerner. Gujungu noted that one sour point about President Buhari’s 2019 ambition was his claim that the killings across the country were being carried out by “desperate politicians”, yet he had not arrested even a single suspect. The AYF president, therefore, said Nigerians should blame the president for the attacks on innocent citizens. The AYF boss who spoke to our correspondent on phone on Monday, said the President’s cl...
