The Christian Youth
Network of Nigeria has kicked against attempts to blackmail the Omega Power
Ministries OPM and its General Overseer Apostle Chibuzor Chinyere. The group
through its National Publicity secretary said it was wrong to blackmail a man
who has sued his resources to promote the betterment of the society he lives.
The group said it was
making its position known in reaction to insinuations in various quarters that
the revered man of God who has touched the lives of people is sponsoring
members of his church and his staff to do negative propaganda against David
Ibiyomie of the Salvation Ministries. ''Everybody has their calling in life. As
much as we respect all men of God, we must not fall so cheap as to incite men
of God against themselves. The group also condemned the posting of an obituary in the social media against the OPM ministries. It said '' OPM, its leader as well as church members will not die. As much as we don't wish anybody evil even our enemies, we pray that those behind such stupidity should retrace their steps otherwise they will receive the wrath of God Almighty''.
This is wrong because Rivers state need men of God
like Apostle Chibuzor and others to help decongest candidates for hell in the
state''. The group said.
While congratulating
Apostle Chibuzor Chinyere on his 43rd birthday celebrations, the Christian
Youth Network hailed his decision to reject the Rolls Royce gift that was given
to him. ''It is a very remarkable gesture for the man of God to have rejected
the car gift which he said should be sold and the proceeds used in building more
free schools. We know many men of God will not do this rather they will be
basking in the euphoria of having such gifts. It takes a true man of God to
take such an action and we really commend him for showing compassion for the needy''.
The group said it will soon
be organising an interdenominational lecture on the need to use church proceeds
to better the lives of the indigents. It said the lecture which will become
yearly will help improve cooperation among men of God.
