Member of the House of
Representatives representing Gubio/ Kaga/ Magumeri Federal constituency Hon.
Mohammed Sanda Ngamdu has received the Sarduana Inspirational Leadership Award
for his role as an Achiever Per Excellence.
The award which was
presented to the Rep member at his
office at the National Assembly Abuja by
the Association of Northern Nigerian Students witnessed an array of executives
of the association.
Presenting the award to
Hon Ngamdu, the National President of the association Comrade Jabir Aminu Maiturare said the decision
to present the Sarduana Leadership award to Hon. Ngamdu was taken during the
National Executive Council meeting of the Association in Bauchi state. He said
the key role Hon. Ngamdu played in the passage of the North East Development
Commission NEDC Bill as well as his performance as a representative of his people
especially in the area of youth and women development as well as support for
displaced persons among other factors, necessitated the presentation of the
award to him.
The ANNS President
further commended Hon. Ngamdu for creating opportunities for his constituents
to gain job opportunities. ''It is on record that the Honourable is among
members of the House of Representatives from the north eastern part of the
country that has created job opportunities for his people'' Comrade Maiturare
told newsmen.
Speaking further at the
award presentation, the Senate President of the Association of Northern
Nigerian Students Comrade Adamu Adam Matazu said members of his association
were happy with the passage of the North East Development Commission Bill which
he said will help in the development of the north east. While commending the member
for his proactive role in the passage of the Bill which has been accented to by
President Muhammadu Buhari, he urged other members to emulate Hon. Sanda
Ngamdu's performance
Reacting to the
presentation of the award, Hon. Ngamdu said he was highly honoured by the
award. he said as a beneficiary of free education from his primary to diploma
level, he said he is aware of the benefits of education and will continue to do
his best to support educational pursuits. He described the Nigerian youth as an
asset to the country while stressing that the unity of the country is paramount
to the development of Nigeria.
He thanked all
Nigerians for supporting the North East Development Commission NEDC Bill which
has become an Act of parliament owing to its accent by Mr. President. He urged
the youths to be more proactive particularly in politics having been elected
himself into the Borno state House of Assembly at the age of twenty five.
