The Bayelsa United For Progress BUP has described a former
aide to Goodluck Ebele Jonathan Dr. Waripamowei Dudafa as a real patriot who
loves the state and has their interest at heart. The group said the likes of
the ex-Senior Special Assistant on Domestic Matters to the ex-president are
hard to come by.
The group in a press statement signed by its National
Coordinator Mr. Ebi Clement while reacting to the rebuttal of Dudafa on the
direction by former first lady Patience Jonathan that she has mandated her
followers Dudafa included to support the incumbent governor Seriake Dickson in
his reelection bid said it is imperative that people like Dudafa be commended
for their patriotic stance against the governor which is devoid of sentiments.
Dr. Dudafa had in a press statement signed on his behalf by a
former Commissioner in the state Gesiye Isowo described the Bayelsa state
governor as a desperate man who must be rooted out of office. The BUP said it
was concurring with the stance of the former presidential aide describing
Seriake Dickson as a failed leader who has lost the faith of the people.
The group said there was no way the people of the state will
allow the governor to get a second term because of what it described as his
insensitivity to the people of the state and their welfare. It described the
much publicized reconciliation of the former first lady with the governor as a pyrrhic
reconciliation which will not stand the test of time. “It is unfortunate that
the former first lady will be seen to be reconciling with an established enemy
of the state. As much as we still have regards for her person, it is
unfortunate that there is nothing she can do to save the governor who is
drowning and will drown to his doom” the statement added.
The group wondered why the former first lady will be working for someone who has no regard for her person why she was in office. It warned Mrs. Jonathan not to be endorsing somebody that will become a problem to the state and her husband in the long run. The BUP hailed the fearless stance of Dr. Dudafa stressing
that it was imperative that Bayelsans show solidarity with his stance against
the governor “whose conscience has been obliterated by greed and arrogance”.
