“You Are A Disgrace to Rivers People” Group To Rotimi Amaechi

The Niger Delta Renaissance Organisation has labeled Governor Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers State a big disgrace to the people of Niger Delta and Rivers state in particular. The group through a press statement signed by its National Coordinator Comrade Nwokoma messiah said the governor of Rivers state has exposed the state and its people to public ridicule through his conducts and statements. The group also warned the governor not to sell The group said it was lamentable that Governor Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers state used Rivers money to bring in foreigners to the state to attend his 7 years anniversary. The group said the Rivers state governor should tell Rivers people which known Rivers elders, women or youths that attended his so called rally. Audu Ogbe Apologises To Bring Back Our Girls Campaigners

A leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Audu Ogbeh, on Tuesday apologised to the BringBackOurGirls campaigners for insinuating that the group is an appendage of the APC. Mr. Ogbeh, had during the former Head of State, Muhammadu Buhari’s declaration for the APC presidential ticket, extolled the group for its selfless campaign to secure the release of the over 200 Chibok girls abducted by Boko Haram insurgence over six months ago. “We believe that one day; they (Chibok girls) will be reunited with their children even though those children have seen a lot of trauma,” Mr Ogbeh had said. “Opt For Consensus” Group to Rivers PDP Guber Aspirants

The Niger Delta Renaissance Organisation has urged Rivers governorship aspirants in the Peoples Democratic Party to opt for a consensus candidate ahead of the party primaries which comes up on November 29 th 2014. The group during a press interaction with journalists at the Party National office Wadata House Abuja, noted that the guber aspirants in the state cannot afford to be divided. The National Secretary of the group and spokesman Comrade Barr. Founder of Greater Evangelism World Crusade, Geoffrey Numbere, dies

According to Linda Ikeji blog, The Founder of the Greater Evangelism World Crusade, a popular church based in Port Harcourt Rivers state, Apostle Geoffrey Numbere has died. He died  October 15th after a battle with cancer.  Apostle Numbere a Niger Deltan from Okirika remains an inspiration to many who came in contact with him and his teachings which emphasies on salvation. The clergyman is survived by his wife & 5 children. May his soul rest in perfect peace..amen.   

“PDP Has Credible Governorship Candidates” Group Replies Gov. Amaechi

The Niger Delta Renaissance Organisation has reacted to a statement credited to Governor Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers State alleging that the Peoples Democratic Party PDP lacks credible governorship candidates in the state. The governor was alleged to have made the statement during an Inspection tour of the Adokiye Amiesimaka Sports Complex in Greater Port Harcourt recently. The group said the statement credited to Governor Amaechi is highly misleading and malicious. In a press statement signed by its National Secretary Barr. Kingsley Eze Frank, the group said   the party boasts of an array of men and women of proven track of integrity and distinction in private business and public service. The group   cited Chief Barr. Nyesom Wike, 6 Others, Resign.

The Minister of state for education Barr. Nyesom Wike has resigned as a federal minister. Barr. Wike is known to be nursing a gubernatorial position in Rivers state. Six other ministers resigned their positions to aspire for political positions. Those who resigned today, are Labaran Maku who was the Minister of Information, Darius Ishaku Former Minister of state Niger Delta Affairs, Samuel Ortom( Minister of state Trade and Investments) Onyebuchi Chukwu (Health), Musililu Obanikor (Minister of State Defence) and Emeka Wogu (Labour) It will be recalled that the ambition of Wike to govern the state has received serious knocks but he is adamant to contest. The National Chairman of the party recently visited Rivers state where according to LEADERSHIP NEWSPAPERS, he was tactically supported to contest the governorship seat of the party. Some aspirants under the PDP have described it as a welcome development.

APC Using Foreign Interests To Distabilise Nigeria- NDRO

The Niger Delta Renaissance Organisation has accused the All Progressive Congress APC of using foreign interests to distabilise the country. The group said it is regrettable that the party in its inordinate bid to wrestle power from the ruling People’s Democratic Party PDP has resorted to using countries that are not comfortable with Nigeria’s rising profile in the continent to distabilise the country’s fight against insurgency. The group in a press statement signed by its National Coordinator Comrade Nwokoma Messiah accused the South African President of trying to appease his friend Atiku Abubakar who is a presidential aspirant under the All Progressive Congress APC. The statement said it is appalling that the South African government failed to use all diplomatic channels to resolve the issue considering the fact that the issue has strong implications in the country’s fight against terrorism.
