Prince Chibudom Nwuche Still Politically Naive, Seeking Relevance – PDP

--Calls on Him, APC Leadership to Commend Wike’s Security, Development Efforts
The Chairman, Rivers State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, Bro Felix Obuah takes exception to the views of the former lawmaker, Prince Chubudom Nwuche, on the security situation in Rivers State, saying by virtue of his person and as someone who has been a key player in the party’s activities, he should understand the dynamics of political governance as it relates to issues of security.
The PDP flays Prince Nwuche’s misguided views on the state of affairs, particularly security efforts of the government, saying it is disappointing that his apparent quest for relevance and recognition in his new and unsuccessful party, the All Progressives Congress, APC, has eventually beclouded his sense of judgment, leading him desperately to suppress facts and the truth on the uncompromising stance of the Rivers State government under Governor Nyesom Wike in tackling insecurity all over the State.
It is obvious that Prince Nwuche’s statement on security development in the State is that of a drowning and an uniformed person, no wonder he continues to jump from pillar to post in search of political visibility after losing relevance as a result of his failure to adequately represent his people at the National Assembly and failed attempt to secure the highly competitive ticket for the Rivers West Senatorial seat in the Senate on the platform of our great party, the PDP.
A lost and irrelevant politician like Prince Nwuche needs not be left in darkness, but made to understand the reality on ground. For the benefit of doubt therefore, and for ingrates like Prince Nwuche, since inception of office, Chief Wike administration in the State has left no stone unturned in ensuring that the State is ridden of criminality and violence. This informed the efficient and fruitful relationship between the security agencies and the Rivers State government which has manifested in the current peace in parts of the State.
The PDP chairman, Bro Obuah therefore views comments credited to Chibudom Nwuche in the Nation, Sunday, January 24, 2016 page 56 that the PDP deployed violence to win the elections, bought guns and armed bad elements, as absolutely false, misleading and concocted to play into APC relevance, and to seek political appointment, having worked against APC and Buhari during the general elections.
It’s on the strength of this also that the Rivers State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, takes exception to the accusation  by Prince Nwuche, liking it to someone who, after spending greater percentage of his early life learning a trade, remains an apprentice, even while his mates have all graduated to be masters and leaders in that trade.
The PDP chairman says, the Ekpeye born-politician, who rode on the fame and support of Dr Peter Odili, former governor of Rivers State to become the number six citizen of the country in the capacity as the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives in 2003, a position zoned to Rivers State by the party, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has since then been at the corridor of political power in Nigeria.
Expectedly, considering his many failed years in political leadership, Prince Nwuche ought to have been among the best and most experienced politicians the nation, particularly his Ekpeye people would have been proud of and also depended upon.
Unfortunately, the reverse is the case with Prince Nwuche, who, rather than exhibiting maturity and true progressive tendencies, has continued to be retrogressive, unprepared and unfit to be entrusted with the peoples’ mandate.
Bro Obuah is aware of the zero tolerance policy and actions of the Rivers State government on criminal tendencies and acts of violence in the State which Governor Wike received our commendation. The Party remains proud and supportive of the governor’s efforts in the development of the State and also reiterates its confidence in the ability of Governor Wike in transforming all parts of the State, including Ekpeye land.
The PDP therefore, calls on the diminishing Abuja politician, Prince Nwuche, and his APC propagandists to stomach their pride and tell the world the truth about the astronomical development successes of the PDP government under governor Wike in Rivers State, rather than deliberately painting the State black for selfish ambition.
Furthermore, the Party urges Prince Chibudom Nwuche and the APC leadership to join other well-meaning Rivers people and Nigerians in commending the Governor and the PDP in sustaining peace and security in a multi-ethnic, populous and fast growing industrial and commercial State like Rivers and to stop peddling lies and taking actions aimed at causing anarchy in the area.

DEFECTIONS: Why Saraki, Dogara Others Must Heed Sen. Ibrahim's Call by Comrade Nwokoma Ndubuisi M.

The gale of defections in the National Assembly last week was followed by an advice from no one else than Sen. Abu Ibrahim that the Senate President Dr. Bukola Saraki as well as the Speaker of the House of Representatives Yakubu Dogara and others in the fold of the All Progressives Congress APC that are still masquerading in the party should resign their membership of the party. This call which also implies that they resign their positions as leaders of the various arms of the National Assembly is yet to be complied with by those concerned as at the time of writing this piece Whatever their reasons for still staying put in the party may be, the fact of the matter is that their continued stay in the party has become a sore which must be extricated from the body.  As I watched through the proceedings of the defections on national television, I wept for the country for producing such leaders that lack morality despite all the party has given them politically which they ordin...

Rivers Governmnet, PDP Disagree Over $280 million Looan

The Rivers State Government and the Peoples Democratic Party in the state are currently at loggerheads over the request by the state Governor, Mr. Rotimi Amaechi, for a $280m loan for water and sanitation projects. While the state PDP said that the latest request for loan by the state government was unnecessary due to the resources accruing to the state through the federal allocation and internally generated revenue, the government said it was not true that the funds were to be used for 2015 elections. The state House of Assembly had on Monday endorsed Amaechi’s request for loan for water supply and sanitation projects. But the state PDP, in a statement, signed by the Special Adviser to its Chairman, Mr. Jerry Needam, said the request for loan was aimed at punishing the governor’s successor in 2015. The party called on members of the House of Assembly, the Federal Ministry of Finance, the African Development Bank and the World Bank not to honour the loan re...

2019: Northern youths kick as Northwest APC lawmakers endorse Buhari

The leadership of the Arewa Youth Forum on Monday said President Muhammadu Buhari does not deserve any endorsement for the 2019 presidency. Reacting to a purported endorsement by some serving All Progressives Congress’s lawmakers from the Northwest in Kaduna, the AYF’s National President, Alhaji Gambo Gujungu, said Buhari was not fit to return as president in 2019. The AYF argued that with the killing spree all over the country, especially in the North, Buhari should serve his mandatory four years term and quit the stage for another Northerner. Gujungu noted that one sour point about President Buhari’s 2019 ambition was his claim that the killings across the country were being carried out by “desperate politicians”, yet he had not arrested even a single suspect. The AYF president, therefore, said Nigerians should blame the president for the attacks on innocent citizens. The AYF boss who spoke to our correspondent on phone on Monday, said the President’s cl...
