NDRO Commends Niger Delta Minister Over Tour Of Niger Delta States

The Niger Delta Renaissance Organisation NDRO has commended the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs Pastor Usani Usani Uguru over his recent tour of Niger Delta states. The group urged the Minister to ensure that the abandoned East West road is completed under his watch.
The group while congratulating Pastor Usani Uguru over his appointment as minister in charge of Niger Delta Affairs said he has started on a good footing. The group said with the tour of Niger Delta states, the ministry will be able to appreciate the challenges facing the region and proffer better solutions.
The group in the statement signed by its National Coordinator Comrade Nwokoma Messiah said it has strong faith that Pastor Usani Uguru will do well in his position as Minister especially with the efforts he has shown so far. It said it is regrettable that previous ministers that occupied the office did nothing concrete to position the ministry for better performance. The NDRO specifically criticized the stay of Godswill Orubebe as minister over what it termed lack of commitment to the development of the Niger Delta region.

While calling for the probe of the previous ministers that steered the activities of the ministry, the Niger Delta Renaissance Organisation NDRO urged the Minister to ensure that the almost abandoned East West road is completed during his tenure. “Pastor Usani Usani who has been in the opposition for a long time and has seen the rots in the system can etch his name in gold as far as the Niger Delta region is concerned if he ensures that the road is completed. This will give the people confidence and endear them to the present administration. It is also imperative that the ministry under him take the issue of human capacity development seriously. Hopefully, it is our belief that with the way he has started he will achieve all these. We are also urging all stakeholders irrespective of party affiliations to support him achieve these”. The statement added.

The gale of defections in the National Assembly last week was followed by an advice from no one else than Sen. Abu Ibrahim that the Senate President Dr. Bukola Saraki as well as the Speaker of the House of Representatives Yakubu Dogara and others in the fold of the All Progressives Congress APC that are still masquerading in the party should resign their membership of the party. This call which also implies that they resign their positions as leaders of the various arms of the National Assembly is yet to be complied with by those concerned as at the time of writing this piece Whatever their reasons for still staying put in the party may be, the fact of the matter is that their continued stay in the party has become a sore which must be extricated from the body.  As I watched through the proceedings of the defections on national television, I wept for the country for producing such leaders that lack morality despite all the party has given them politically which they ordin...
