…Says We’ve Been Vindicated
The Rivers State chapter of the
Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, says its earlier and persistent alarm on the
looting spree and other illegal activities by the out-going Governor Amaechi,
his family members, particularly, his wife, Judith, and aides in the Government
House and other government institutions has again been justified.
The PDP, commending the men and
officers of the Rivers State Command of the Nigerian Police, who intercepted
the truck carrying looted items from the Government House, Port Harcourt
yesterday, Sunday, May 10, 2015, says it is unhappy over this illegal and
criminal development which seems unabated and unchecked thereby allowing the
perpetrators to have a field day looting State-owned facilities and huge funds.
The Party considers its
position vindicated with the latest seizure of a Toyota Camry Car with Registration
Number: KRK 340 AA, belonging to one Mr. Chant, which was used in escorting a
Mercedes Benz Truck with Registration Number: LA 086 MA, carrying several items
from the Rivers State Government House, Port Harcourt, on Sunday, May 10, 2015,
at about 7pm.
Items looted and moved out
under the instruction of the out-going Governor (Amaechi) in the truck include,
among others, three big Safe containing large sums of money, domestic utensils,
sound-proof generators, computers, fridges, foreign furniture, electrical and
electronic gadgets etc.
The PDP describes this looting
galore by Gov Amaechi and family members as capable of wrecking the State and
the people, calling on the security agencies and the people to be proactive and
rise against this unholy act before it gets out of hand.
The PDP calls on Gov Amaechi,
his Wife (Judith) and all officials of the out-going APC government to search
their conscience, and desist from running the State aground before leaving
office, saying its eyes are open on checkmating their activities until the
final whistle is blown on May 29, 2015, when a new government will certainly be
formed in the State.
