There are people who God has sent to redeem the lives of
people who fate have been so unfortunate to. One of such persons is the General
Overseer of the Omega Power Ministries popularly known as OPM.
The life of Mrs. Gladys Okon (not real name) exemplifies what
the man of God who has given succor to those in need is doing to transform the
lives of the common people not to talk of his spiritual battles against the wicked
ones in high places.
Mrs. Gladys used to be among the call girls that dots the
ever busy red light zone of Azikiwe Street in Port Harcourt. Last year Apostle Chibuzor
Chinyere came to the area purposely to convert most of the girls. Gladys was
among the 38 girls that converted that very day. She later got married to her
old time lover. During the marriage she and her husband were given accommodation
that befitted their new marital status. They were also empowered economically by
the General Overseer to get married. The news is that it is not only Mrs. Okon
that has gotten married since then.
''The challenge has not been easy’’ she said. ‘’the
stigma of being a former prostitute is there but with the support of the G O we
have surmounted that stigma and most of us have never regretted getting converted
to Christ’’. She really does not need to regret because she has settled to the
kind of life that she desire. Gladys like most girls is a victim of human
trafficking which the GO is doing so much to fight. His efforts are yielding
fruit because people are getting out of the illicit things they have been doing
to embrace Christ due to the way and manner he has been encouraging people to
do so.
Just as he is doing in the fight against prostitution and
human trafficking Apostle Chibuzor Chinyere has been helping rid the society of
militants and cultists that terrorized the state. In July this year he baptized over 300
repentant cultists and gave them leverage to earn better living. Today that number
is rising. The ministry provides them accommodation, shelter, skill acquisition
and setting up of business and this has helped keep the society descent.
‘’There is no where that crime does not exist but the
privileged ones in the society must be seen to be doing something to help those
that are willing to change. The General Overseer of the Omega Power Ministries
OPM is doing just that and it is important that he is appreciated for what he
is doing to help transform the society for the better’’. This was the candid
statement of one of the repentant cultists about the life and destiny saving
venture of Apostle Chibuzor Chinyere.
The philanthropy of Chibuzor Chinyere does not stop at converting.
His ministry has impacted so much on the society providing free educational services
and health services for his members this is not to talk about free meals he
gives to the less privileged people. The case of a widow who the man of God picked
out and built a two bedroom flat for received strong accolade across the state and its environs. This story was
particularly touching because the widow who had two kids was suffering so much
after the death of her husband. She even had to go back to her poor parent’s
place with the suffering not abating. When the story of her pathetic situation
got to the notice of the G O he did not hesitate in giving her the two bedrooms
flat which today she is a proud owner of.
One good thing about what Apostle Chibuzor Chinyere is doing
to transform the lives of the people is that when he gets you converted and you
don’t have the resources to make it in life, his foundation offers such kind of
persons various incentives through the skill acquisition scheme and other valuable
programmes it carries out. At the end of the day he is helping take off laziness from the fabric
of the society.
The country needs people with good hearts that are willing to
help those in need. Chibuzor Chinyere should be given applauds for his efforts.
With encouragement by the same society which he has given so much to, he will
continue to do more all to the glory of God.
