“Stop Playing Politics With Orashi People” OPCA advises Amaechi

The Orashi Peoples Consultative Assembly OPCA has advised the minister of Transport and former governor of Rivers state Rt. Hon. Rotimi Amaechi to stop playing politics with the people of Orashi region. The group made this statement in reaction to the statement credited to Rotimi Amaechi when he visited Omoku Town promising that the issue of insecurity in Omoku Town and other parts of the region will be addressed if they vote the All Progressives Congress into the Government House Port Harcourt. Omoku New Year Killings: Sen. Ake Commiserate With Families Of Departed… Says Ogba Land Will Rise Again

Sen. Wilson Asinobi Ake has commiserated with the people of Ogbaland over the New Year day massacre which occurred at Omoku Town in Ogba/Egbema/ Ndoni Local Government of Rivers State. Sen. Ake in a press release made available to newsmen said the attack against innocent citizens who were celebrating the coming of the New Year was barbaric, idiotic and the height of cowardice by criminal elements who do not want the Ogba race and the Ogba/ Egbema/ Ndoni local government to move forward. Board Appointments: Rivers West Coalition Protest Neglect

The Rivers West Development Coalition a socio political group in the state has protested the recent Board appointments made by the Federal Government recently. The coalition which is made up of the Ijaw Justice Forum IJF and the Council Of Orashi Ethnic Nationalities COEN after an emergency meeting in Ahoada Rivers state said the appointments which excluded major contributors to the development of the All Progressives Congress APC in the state showed that the Federal Government was insensitive to the people of the region and the contributions made by the region to the country.
