Supreme Court Verdict: APW Congratulates Sen. Binani… Urge Aggrieved Politicians Not To Distract Her



The Association of Parliamentary Writers APW has congratulated the Senator representing Adamawa Central on her victory at the Supreme Court which ruled in her favour in the suit brought Against her by Abubakar Waziri Who she defeated at the Senatorial primaries of the party last year.

The group in a press statement signed by Mr. Chris Alu its Director of Media said the victory was a victory for democracy and the good people of Adamawa who voted for her to represent them at the Red Chambers. The group in the statement urged aggrieved politicians to come to terms with her victory and support her in order for her to bring the dividends of effective representation to the people of her constituency.

While also congratulating the Senator on her inauguration as a member of the Nigerian Senate, the group said it has confidence that the four years which she will be representing the people of Adamawa Central she will rein in her best for the betterment of her people. “We have a very strong conviction that Sen. Ahmed who was a member of the House of Representatives and the only Senator from the North in this 9th National Assembly has the requisite experience to make a difference at the Nigerian senate. The people of her constituency and the country at large are lucky to have such a patriotic Nigerian at the Red Chambers and we are of the conviction that with her quality as well as others in this 9th Assembly, Nigeria will be better off for it’’ the statement added.

It should be noted that Mr. Abubakar Waziri had petitioned the Court over the emergence of Senator Aishatu Dahiru Ahmed over her emergence in a case that went up to the Supreme Court which described the petition as a mere academic exercise. Justice Mary Odili who presided over the hearing of the petition ruled that the appeal having been withdrawn following the posers raised by the Supreme Court which the appellant couldn’t answer, is hereby dismissed.
