Former Super Eagles
central defender, Taribo West disclosed to The Nation/Sportinglife exclusively
on Wednesday night that he is hale and hearty contrary to reports that he died
in London as a result of self-inflicted gun shot wounds.
West was miffed how
people could wish him dead stressing that: “Whenever I get such calls seeking
to clarify if I’m still alive, I get excited because it means that I will live
longer than anyone else. Let me tell you that I’m alive. I will live up to 120
years if God says so.
“Look, when you called
me, I was in my prayer room seeking God’s mercy. So, when my brother said you
called, l returned to tell you that those wishing me dead cannot be serious. I
have no terminal illness. I’m not in London. I’m in Lagos and I hope to be in
Ibadan today to participate in the annual Coca-Cola soccer tournament for kids.
“My fans, who are in
Ibadan, will see me live on thursday and Friday. In fact, my weekend is fully
occupied. Let me thank your newspaper house for always seeking to speak with me
whenever this useless story crops up. I will be in your office next Monday, trust
me,” Taribo said.
