Though journalists and other unwanted guests were barred from seeing the teenager, it was gathered that the wife of the state commissioner of police, has been a regular visitor and is also assisting in the counselling process to enable her pick up the pieces of her life. “She is gradually regaining her composure. But she will need to relocate from the state to a place she is not known so that she can start afresh after leaving her temporary abode. “Taking the girl back home may affect her healing process because of the number of people that will be trooping in to catch a glimpse of her,” a security source told Saturday Vanguard. My daughter is pregnant Notwithstanding the travails of his family and his incessant shuttling between his Opolo residence and the police officers mess, temporary abode of his daughter, Mr. Charles Oruru, father of the rescued girl has remained a calm man. But the strain of the last six months took its toll on him Thursday evening when he showed anger thinking he was being recorded while on phone discussing with a caller about his daughter’s condition. He had said: “the two tests in Kano and Abuja said she is five months pregnant.” In a spur of the moment, he flashed a glare at this reporter fiddling with his phone, thinking his conversation was being recorded. He however put up his usual smile again though with the strain of the last few months telling on his frail frame, when he became convinced his discussion was not being transmitted live. He dashed into his room, put on his jumper and came back saying “it has been a trying moment for us…” On his daughter health condition, he said, “whatever you read in the newspaper is true.”
