Rivers Supreme Court Verdict: Felix Obuah Thanks Religious Leaders For Their Support


The Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP in Rivers State Bro. Felix Obuah has thanked religious leaders and faithful in the state for their support and prayers during the course of the legal battle of the Rivers State Governor Barr. Nyesom Ezebunwo Wike.
The PDP Chairman made this known during the Annual Vigil Night of the Church of God (Seventh Day) 36 Gambia Street   Port Harcourt Branch over the weekend. He said despite the plan to turn Rivers State into a militarized zone by the enemies of the state,  the God  Almighty through the prayers of his children did a great miracle by revising the man made judgments of the lower courts by giving Rivers people justice through the apex court of the land.
Bro. Obuah popularly known as Go Round said the administration of Barr. Nyesom Wike is poised towards ensuring that the people of Rivers state reap the dividends of democracy while promising that men of God in the state will not be left out also. He said the present administration in the state will do all it can to ensure that the relative peace and stability in the state is maintained through good governance. He thanked the leaders and members of the Church of God (Seventh Day) for their support for truth and justice stressing that their prayers will never be in vain.
The Special Adviser to the Rivers state governor Hon. Elemchukwu Ogbowu who accompanied the state party Chairman to the vigil said the gathering of the church members for the vigil wouldn’t have been possible if the plans of the opposition in the state had materialized. He said God has been glorified by the judgment of the Supreme Court which occurred during the 21 Day Fasting and Prayer Session of the Church.

Pastor Dr. L C Obara the presiding Pastor of the church thanked the PDP Chairman for gracing the vigil. He said the church will never relent in praying for leaders in authourity. He said the state has become more peaceful by the Supreme Court judgment of 28th January 2015. “God has heard our fervent prayer which is a clear testimony of our 21 Day Fasting and prayer session. The jubilation that greeted the judgment is also a clear indication that when the righteous are in position of authourity the people rejoice. May God forever be praised” He concluded.

Rivers Governmnet, PDP Disagree Over $280 million Looan

The Rivers State Government and the Peoples Democratic Party in the state are currently at loggerheads over the request by the state Governor, Mr. Rotimi Amaechi, for a $280m loan for water and sanitation projects. While the state PDP said that the latest request for loan by the state government was unnecessary due to the resources accruing to the state through the federal allocation and internally generated revenue, the government said it was not true that the funds were to be used for 2015 elections.
