As the much expected Governorship election in Bayelsa State
approaches, the Niger Delta Renaissance Organisation a socio political organization
in the Niger Delta region has described Dr. Waripamowei Dudafa a former Senior
Special Assistant on Domestic Matters to former President Goodluck Ebele
Jonathan as highly relevant to Bayelsa State.
The group made this known in a press statement it issued out to
herald its RENAISSANCE WEEK taking place in Port Harcourt the Rivers State
capital. The group said while the various parties in the coming election gears
up for the contest, they should realize that political peace is paramount in
the stability of the state and everything must be done to ensure that the state
does not erupt into violence as a result of the personal ambitions.

Niger Delta people who have impacted on the region and also to Lunch its empowerment
initiative to better the lots of the youths of the region.
On the seeming animosity against the former SSA to the ex-President
from some quarters, the group blamed the current governor of the state of not
being mature enough to manage the opposition to his reelection by some prominent
leaders of thought in the state especially from the likes of Dr. Dudafa who
they described as a patriot. The group said as afar as the people of Bayelsa are
concerned, Dudafa in his relatively young age has achieved what a lot of people
have not achieved in politics and has subsequently used his position to better
the lots of a lot of people not only from Bayelsa but Niger Delta region
inclusive. “As much as we are concerned, the positive impact of Dr. Waripamowei
Dudafa in Bayelsa politics cannot and will not be wished away by sentiments of
power play. He remains a respected figure in the state and must be given the
best regard he deserves not minding his position on Bayelsa politics today” The
statement stressed.
The statement signed by the Director of publicity of the organization
and distributed to members of the press, said it is imperative that the likes
of Dudafa be accorded the regard they deserve not minding political interests
or inclination. NDRO said it will continue to pursue peace as a panacea to
underdevelopment rocking Bayelsa State and the Niger Delta region stressing
that without such, nothing can be achieved or the progress made so far cannot
be sustained.
It urged the people of Bayelsa State to vote their conscience
in the coming election and not allow themselves to be deceived by myopic
sentiments.
