Nyesom Wike Camp Receives Boost As Pro Mainstream Group Abandons Aggrieved PDP Governorship Aspirants… Seeks Massive Support For Wike

A pro Rivers mainstream campaign group Niger Delta Renaissance Organisation NDRO has abandoned the coalition which hitherto was against the governorship aspiration of Barrister Nyesom Wike.
The group is also asking Rivers people not to be deceived by the promises of the All Progressives Congress APC and its governorship aspirant Hon. Dakuku Peterside whom they described as anti people.
The group in a press statement signed by its National Coordinator Comrade Nwokoma Messiah said it was abandoning the stance of the aggrieved guber aspirants against the nomination of Wike  due to what it described as their rigid style of politics which will not do the PDP in the state any good. The group advised all aggrieved gubernatorial aspirants under the PDP to act like a gentlemen by accepting the olive branch offered by the leadership of the party.
The group accused the conveners of the Rivers mainstream Coalition who are still hell bent on fighting against the choice of Wike as the flag bearer of the party to rethink their stance and embrace the peace accord of the party.  “They cannot continue to posture as enemies of the party after all they have achieved in the party. As youths desirous of progress in our dear state and country, we want them to be cautioned against their acts of trying to sabotage the party at the state”. The group stated.
It described the PDP flag bearer as a fighter who must be commended for his efforts in ensuring that the party in the state survives despite efforts by few disgruntled elements to paint him in bad light. “It must be acknowledged that while other strong members of the party were dragging their feet when Governor Amaechi betrayed the mandate handed him, Chief Nyesom Wike assumed leadership of the party ensuring that the interest of the party, the people of Rivers state and that of Mr. President was not in danger. He must be commended for keeping the party alive” The statement added.
The NDRO as a group made up of faithful party members desirous of ensuring the victory of the PDP at every level of government,  said it behoves its group as well as other well meaning Rivers people as well as groups to rally round the governorship flag bearer of the party in the state.
The group advised disgruntled elements in the party to realize that the primaries are over and that all other interests must sink in other for the party to emerge victorious at the polls.
It said it will do all it can towards  mobilizing support of Rivers people as well as Nigerians for the victory of the party in Rivers state as well as other Niger Delta states.
It will be recalled that the Niger Delta Renaissance Organisation NDRO was one of the groups that fought against the nomination of Chief Nyesom Wike during the build up to the party primaries under the Rivers Mainstream Coalition. With its endorsement of Wike now, the coast seem to be very clear for the victory of Chief Nyesom Wike at the general elections slated for April. The endorsement will also pave way for other groups and individuals to embrace the Nyesom Wike project.

The gale of defections in the National Assembly last week was followed by an advice from no one else than Sen. Abu Ibrahim that the Senate President Dr. Bukola Saraki as well as the Speaker of the House of Representatives Yakubu Dogara and others in the fold of the All Progressives Congress APC that are still masquerading in the party should resign their membership of the party.
