17 Governors Set For UN-SDG Awards

Seventeen state governors will be awarded for the roles they have played in promoting the Sustainable Development Goals. The award will be organised by the International Association of World Peace Advocates (IAWPA) official partner to the United Nations on Sustainable Development Goals. The association in a press statement signed by its international spokesman Amb. Emmanuel Nkweke said the award ceremony is part of its activities to celebrate the 3 rd anniversary of the United Nations Sustainable Goals which was adopted by member states of the UN date back 25 th September 2015 in New-York. According to the statement, the governors of Lagos, Katsina, Rivers, Kogi, Anambra, Cross River, Akwa Ibom, Kebbi, Bauchi, Imo, Taraba, Abia, Adamawa, Kano, Niger, Ogun and Kaduna states will be awarded in various areas of the SDGs. APC New Secretariat And The Need To Foster Unity Within The Fold

Recently the Rivers State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress APC unveiled its new party secretariat in Port Harcourt the Rivers State Capital. The gale of defections that gripped the Nationa Assembly recently, reached another level with the decision of the former minority leader of the Senate Sen. Godswill Akpobio to resign his position as the leader of the minority. Breaking: Alhassan resigns from Buhari’s cabinet to vie for governorship

The minister of women affairs and social development, Senator Aisha Alhassan has resigned her position in order to contest the 2019 governorship election. President Muhammadu Buhari confirmed the resignation in his acceptance of her notification through a letter conveyed to her dated July 27, 2018. Minister for Women Affairs, Asha AlHassan In the letter, however, President Buhari raised a condition of supporting her so long as she vies on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC. Alhassan had famously last September vowed that she would not support Buhari’s second term ambition on the claim that he had promised to serve only one term and that she would only support former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.
