South South Elders Visit Rivers PDP Chairman…As Felix Obuah Urges Party Faithfuls To Rally Round GEJ




The South South Chiefs, Elders, Sisters and Youths Organisation a socio political group based in the South South region of the country last weekend, visited the Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP in Rivers State Bro. Felix Obuah. The group led by its National Chairman Chief Omubo Harry said it was paying the party Chairman the courtesy visit in order to show him and the party its support as it prepares for the 2015 polls.
Chief Omubo Harry while appreciating the reception accorded his group by the Chairman said it was imperative that the people of the South South region supports the ruling PDP which has its son as President of the country. The group hailed the mobilization efforts of the Chairman for President Jonathan describing it as being in line with the collective aspirations of not only the people of the state, but the region in general.
The South South Elders presented Chief Dumo Lulu Briggs, Chief Chukwuma C. Okirie, and Dr. Ojum as its candidates for the forthcoming election primaries in Rivers state.
The state party Chairman Bro. Felix Obuah in his remark welcomed the South South Elders and reiterates his regard for the group. He urged them to ensure that they go and work at the grassroots which is vital in mobilizing the people for the party.
He said he will create a level playing ground for all the aspirants. Bro. Obuah said all the candidates vying for elective positions must show seriousness stressing that anybody who works for the party will reap the reward. He says he wants all party members to contribute to the party because the party needs resources to keep it going. The Rivers state party chairman lamented the cost of litigation arising from various cases against the party urging them to learn from the American model where party faithful contribute to the party in order to make it great. He extended his greetings to his friend and guber aspirant Chief (Barr) Dumo Lulu Briggs who was represented by Chief C C Okirie.
In his goodwill message to the party Chairman, Chief Dumo Lulu Briggs commended the open heartedness and commendable leadership of the party Chairman Bro. Felix Obuah. He said it was worth knowing that the party at the National level and through the state Chairman has assured of a level playing ground for all the candidates during the primaries.
Chief Dumo Lulu Briggs said he will join hands with the Chairman to promote the interest of the party thereby providing “good governance, accountability and transparency in government” “it is imperative that all Rivers people work with the state party Chairman to retake the Bick House from the APC and vote en masse for President goodluck Ebele Jonathan come 2015” he said

A frontline politician in Rivers State Chief Chukwuma Chinwa Oikrie has commended the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party in Rivers state under the leadership of Bro.
