Igbo Quit Order: Proving Atiku Right

Since the recent quit order given to the Igbo ethnic group by some elements in the north that they quit the northern region, there have been reactions and counter reactions from various quarters for and against the order which I consider as the height of the madness that has pervaded the irredentist tendencies of groups and individuals in the country. But as I ponder through all what is happening and the fear of what may take place if we continue to sweep very important issues under the carpet as we are always wont to be doing, I become more convinced that a major solution to the problems that has been bedeviling the country has been proposed by former vice President of the country Alhaji Abubakar Atiku but because of what I have earlier stated was a major problem in the country which is sweeping salient issues under the carpet and pretending as if they never exist, Nigerians especially those in authourity have looked the other way with some terming the patriotic call by Alhaji ...

Quit notice on Igbos: Nigeria moving towards anarchy, breakup – Niger Delta

The Pan-Niger Delta Forum, PANDEF, umbrella body of the Niger Delta elders, Wednesday, stated that the ultimatum by Arewa youth groups on Igbos to vacate the North by October is more treasonable than the offence allegedly committed by Nnamdi Kanu of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB. PANDEF in a statement by a member of the Central Working Committee, CWC, Dr. Alfred Mulade, said the call was wrong and that those behind it should be arrested and prosecuted without delay. Mulade said, “We insist that this call by Arewa youths must be nipped in the bud, and the Federal Government should, as in the case of Nnamdi Kanu, arrest, detain and prosecute them for treasonable felony, with immediate effect. In this matter of threat to the corporate existence of Nigeria, there must be no sacred cows. “PANDEF considers this statement by the Arewa Youths as tragic as and more treasonable than the offence allegedly committed by Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of IPOB, for which he was he...

Senate cannot be blackmailed over Magu’s rejection – Saraki

Senate President, Bukola Saraki has told Nigerians to stop blackmailing the Senate, for rejecting the nomination of Ibrahim Magu as chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). In an interview with Leadership newspaper, Saraki said the report by the Department of State Services (DSS) nailed Magu and not the upper legislative chamber. “We need to stop this issue of blackmail. The screening of Magu was live, we didn’t do it in the dark room at night? Everybody saw the performance. “And lastly, they say because some senators have cases with the EFCC.
