Recently the media has been awash with articles from some prominent Rivers sons espousing the candidature of Mr. Tonye Cole as the best candidate to unseat the incumbent governor of Rivers state Mr. Nyesom Wike. The articles which hinge the need for the people of the state to support Mr. Cole on his endorsement by the former Governor of the state and leader of the party in the state attempts to sell the candidate as the savior who will redeem the state and make it an Eldorado among comity of states in the country based on his success as a businessman. Considering the business background of Mr. Cole, it will be out of place to say that his proponents are hired singers. They may have had the opportunity of knowing him and understanding the kind of personality he is to make such lofty comments about him. As the world gets set to celebrate the third anniversary of the signing of the Sustainable Development Goals SDG of the United Nations, the International Association of World Peace Advocates IAWPA a partner of the United Nations has concluded plans to honour eminent Nigerians whose contributions in their various endeavours have contributed to the promotion of peace in their various states and the country at large.
