Recently during the Nigerian Bar Association NBA Conference in Port Harcourt the Rivers state capital, the attorney general of Borno state Kaka Shehu Lawan had called on security agencies to arrest the former governor of the state and present Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP Sen. Ali Modu Sheriff for creating the terror group called Boko Haram. Such allegation which is not the first of its kind by political detractors of Sheriff would have been allowed to pass but for the fact that Mr. Kaka had made his allegation to look like the official position of the State government and that he had chosen an august occasion such as the gathering of lawyers to make such allegation made the call more grievous. My last visit to Port Harcourt the Rivers State capital and subsequent decision to worship on Sunday in one of the numerous churches that adorn the oil city took me to the Omega Power Ministries (OPM).   This fledging ministry with a band of dedicated members has been gaining popularity by the day not only in Port Harcourt but outside the state. So when my host an avid believer in Christ and a member of the OPM ministries suggested I come and partake in the groove at the House of God located at Eliozu road, I did not hesitate to pick my Bible and join him. Ateke Tom’s Penchant for Peace and Entertainment in the Niger Delta Region

While the issue of militancy continues to receive public acclaim in the Niger Delta and the nation’s military continues its Operation Crocodile Smile OCS aimed at ridding the region of militant activities, one personality in the area whose peaceful overtures has received wide acclaim is High Chief Ateke Tom. High Chief Ateke Tom a former militant war lord in the region has persistently preached the message of peace in the Niger Delta. He has also used entertainment to promote peace and unity in the region.
